President Rodrigo Duterte named five police generals who were allegedly involved and protecting drug lords, and ordered them to relieved from their assignments during his speech at the 69th Anniversary of the Philippine Air Force in Pampanga on Tuesday, July 5.
According to the president, he still needs to validate the reports but with the raw information that he has, he was able to name the 5 generals allegedly protecting the drug trade in the Philippines.
The president also said that he does not necessarily humiliate people but he went on naming the generals because they have allegedly committed treason after the country spent for their uniform and education.
The 5 include retired Director General Marcelo Garbo Jr, former National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) regional director Joel Pagdilao; Quezon City Police District director Edgardo Tinio, General Diaz, a former Regional director of Region 11, and General Vicente Loot, who is now the mayor of one of the municipality of Cebu.
“As this time I order them relieved from their assignments and report to the director general. I would like to talk to them but certainly, I would expect the police commission to talk to them. Imbestigahan ninyo ito at huwag ninyo akong bigyang ng sarswela. Hanapin ninyo ang totoo,” he added.
The president has discarded his prepared speech as he proceeded to rehash on his promise of relieving the country of drugs and crimes within three to six months in office.
